Mission
As members of Yoseikan II Cincinnati, we shall support the preservation and promulgation of the Chito-ryu Karate-do system, as created by O-Sensei, Dr. Tsuyoshi Chitose and as interpreted by the Founders of the U.S. Chito-kai, William J. Dometrich, Hanshi and Barbara E. Dometrich, Kyoshi.
Vision - 2010
Curriculum (Sensei Laura Stith Deck, Ph. D.)
Yoseikan II Cincinnati provides an unsurpassed martial arts experience to its members. This is evidenced by the breadth and depth of our curriculum, which includes a focus on proficiency of Chito-ryu techniques, as well as lessons on Eastern philosophy and tradition. The curriculum is challenging for all, offering continuous learning opportunities regardless of experience, rank, or talent.
Student Development (Sensei Gregory Morris)
Yoseikan II student development focuses on continued excellence in practical, effective martial training, tempered by personal character development in keeping with the traditional foundations of Chito-ryu karate-do. We cultivate measured improvement in the following:
Physical - conditioning, renzoku waza, kata, bunkai, kumite and weapons
Mental - strategy, tactics, history and theory
Social - patience, sincerity, humility, courage, brotherhood, loyalty and wisdom
Teaching (Shihan Mina K. Ludwig, Esq.)
Yoseikan II instructors are highly competent in their dual status roles as students and teachers. They demonstrate a firm grasp of technical knowledge and proficiency, as well as effective communication and motivational skills. Formal training in the area of teaching begins early in rank; learning and skill-building is a continual, purposeful and disciplined progression incorporating Eastern traditional training methods, history and physiology as related to Chito-ryu karate-do.
Facilities (Sensei Matthew Scott)
Our facilities are rich in Eastern tradition in terms of design, layout, and function. Students maintain and improve the dojo facilities as part of the curriculum.
Enrollment (Sensei Lawrence C. Hawkins III, Esq.)
Yoseikan II is growing exponentially in its enrollment, continually attracting new students. The students at Yoseikan II are a diverse population of individuals of various ages, genders, races and socio-economic backgrounds.
Affiliations (Shihan Mina K. Ludwig, Esq.)
Yoseikan II maintains a charter membership with the United States Chito-kai (USCK) and all members are in good standing with the USCK. Yoseikan II provides support and its members fill necessary roles and offices for the USCK. Yoseikan II also seeks to foster cooperative and mutually beneficial relationships with other reputable and skilled budoka, dojos and organizations, both on a national and international level.
